We make tamales every year on Christmas Eve. It is a lot of work, but it is wonderful bringing not only our family, but our friends together as well. I am newly married to a wonderful man from a different culture. We are enjoying sharing our craft and heritage with them. Two countries, two families brought together by the union of two people as one!

Our Christmas tradition is attending Christmas Eve Mass, dinner at my in laws, spending the night at my parents, opening Christmas presents Christmas morning, and attending Christmas mass. We spend Christmas Day relaxing, baking cookies, and watching Christmas movies.

My mom makes posole and it’s delicious! It’s warm meal that keeps you full.
One of our favorite traditions is celebrating the 24th of December. We visit a family friend and pray to lay the Niño Dios and once were done praying we pass the bolo and drink atole and eat tamales. It’s always an enjoyable time with family and friends.

We love to decorate and bake with Christmas music playing.
We celebrate Christmas Eve and having matching pjs.
Our favorite food is tamales and baked goods.

Usually we have a pretty traditional Christmas. Everyone brings a traditional dish. We sit around, talk, laugh, and play games. My favorite dish is Mac n cheese and pecan pie. This year we spiced it up. Instead of the traditional food, we went Cajun style and it was yummy.

My favorite family tradition is taking my girls and and nice and nephews to take pictures with Santa. They wear their Christmas pjs and tell him what’s thwy would like for Christmas. My favorite food would have to be my moms Tamales. No ones compare to hers
