Wedding Photography FAQs | Dallas Fort Worth Wedding Photographers

How do we book or reserve you for our wedding photography?
We need the bride and groom’s first and last names, contact phone numbers, email addresses, wedding date & time, ceremony and reception venue locations, and choice of the wedding collection you want to book if you have chosen one. If you are booking an a la carte wedding photography package, then just let me  know how many hours of wedding day coverage you want along with any portrait sessions if you want any to be added.

Will we have a pre-wedding consultation?
Yes, the consultation is included with every wedding reserved. We want to ensure that we have all the details documented and be prepared for your wedding day. Plus, we will keep in touch with you when setting up portrait sessions and getting a copy of the timeline as your wedding date gets closer. We want to make sure you have a stress-free wedding day!

When should we pay for our wedding photography?
A retainer payment of $750 is required at the time of booking. The retainer is non-refundable and the remaining wedding photography balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding. All weddings require a signed wedding photography agreement and retainer fee payment at time of booking in order to reserve the date. The retainer fee will be applied towards your selected collection and balance. Engagement photo sessions require a $50 retainer fee; which will be applied towards the balance of your session.

Do you charge sales tax?
Yes, for products or services sold or provided in the state of Texas, the sales tax rate is currently 8.25%. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Our wedding won’t require all the hours you offer in your packages, is there another option for us?
If none of our collections suit your needs, we can always create a custom collection for you with our a la carte items. This will help ensure that you receive all the items that you’re looking for and pick only the services that you want.

What if you’re out of my price point range, do you offer custom wedding photography collections?
If one of the collections we provide does not meet your needs, please let us know what you’re looking for in your wedding photography. Customized collections are available based on individual needs. If you’re interested, please send us an email and we will see what fits within your budget. Plus, we can also help you find a local DFW photographer that may be able to assist you if we are not available for your date or to within your budget.

We are having a multi-day wedding, do you have any packages for this type of event or is there another option for us?
We will create a custom collection for you, since multi-day wedding events vary on number of days needed to be covered, hours of coverage needed, and other varying factors. This will help ensure that you receive all the items that you’re looking for and pick only the services that you want.

Is it cheaper to book a wedding collection or choose our wedding coverage with a la carte items?
Wedding collections will save you at least 5-10% from the a la carte pricing. However, you may design your own collection with a la carte items and pick only the services that you want and we will give you a quote.

What if we would like additional events covered (i.e. rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, etc) ?
Depending on our availability on the date of your event, we can provide coverage for these type of events as well. It’s $500 minimum per two-hour event and any additional hours are $150 per hour for the day of that specific event.

What do you wear for weddings?
We dress accordingly and we aim to keep it along the lines of business attire. We wear dress slacks and a nice blouse/shirt.

Will you visit our wedding and reception location before the wedding?
If your wedding is taking place at a location I have never been to, to give you and myself a piece of mind I always go to the locations I’m photographing at before the event to get myself familiar with them.

Will you have back up equipment at our wedding?
Yes, and we use Canon cameras, lenses, and flashes. We currently use the Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 5D Mark II, 580exII flashes, and variety of lenses including prime and zoom.

How many images will we end up with from our wedding?
The number of images will vary and that depends on how long we are at the wedding. We do take an unlimited number of photos, but on average you can expect us to shoot anywhere from 50-100 images per hour. We can definitely chat about this more during our consultation.

When will our wedding photos be available or ready to view?
Your photographs will be posted in your online gallery 6-8 weeks after the wedding. We will correspond with you via e-mail and will send you the direct link to your gallery. You can then share this gallery link with your family and friends.

How do we get prints?
You may purchase additional professional prints directly from us. Once you have your disc of images, you will be able to choose where you want your photos printed at. We will provide you with a link to a company we suggest for professional prints that is open to consumers.

Do we receive High-resolusion or Low-resolution images? What is the difference?
Everything we shoot and provide to you will be high-resolution, unless it’s been discussed otherwise and documented to be a different format. You will receive a USB with a personal copyright release, that will allow you to print for personal usage.

Do you travel for Destination Weddings?
While we do provide service within the Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas, we are available to travel and additional fees may apply. We can talk more about your needs for your destination wedding in one of our consultation meetings. Additional fees for any travel expenses, when applicable will be added to the wedding agreement.

Why is the Complimentary session important?
The complimentary engagement session will help us get to know each other more before your wedding. The more we can get to know you before the wedding, the more you will be comfortable with having us around you. You’ll end up with better photos, because it helps you to be relaxed and comfortable with the camera and us around you on the wedding day.
