Helen and Robert united in marriage in May of 2016. They both live in the Houston, TX area and they headed to Dallas for their wedding.
You may remember Helen from her bridal portraits. Her bridal session was at a great venue in Houston, TX. If you didn’t get to see them, make sure you check them out. Oh and their engagement session was gorgeous too! Their Dallas engagement session was at the Nylo Hotel and also in Las Colinas.
On their wedding day we met with the bride and groom at the Nylo Hotel in Las Colinas. This is where they got ready before heading out to the wedding ceremony in Dallas, TX. As their Dallas wedding photography team we were so excited for their wedding day. While it was a traditional wedding in some ways, we also knew it was going to have a few different traditions that we had not seen before. The traditions are of African decent and they were on Helen’s side of the family. We didn’t see too many of the family traditions at the ceremony, but we did notice many of the guests were dressed in similar clothing styles. The wedding reception was in Irving and you could see the difference in the culture their. They used swords, flowers and greenery as part of their traditional dances and other wedding customs.
